BPDD Launches Art Contest for Self-Advocates - updated information!

Enter your artwork for the chance to win a New iPad!

Self-advocates: Submit your original artwork for the 2012 Mosaic Art Contest! In conjunction with the 2012 Wisconsin Self-Determination Conference, the theme of the art contest is "The Art of Self-Determination." This is an art contest for self-advocates, 18 years and older, who live in Wisconsin and want to express what self-determination and/or self-advocacy means to them through their art. The art contest is sponsored by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD).

The BPDD will accept artwork in three categories: 2D visual art, photography, and poetry. Each category can have up to three award winners. The top prize in each category is a New iPad! All submitted artwork will be featured on the BPDD’s website and all participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Due to many requests from self-advocates, all submissions – except 1st place award winners – will be returned to the artist. The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) will not mail the artwork, but artists will have an opportunity to pick up their submitted artwork at the BPDD office. For more about picking up your artwork, go to Awards, Recognition & Prizes.

Deadline: 12 pm on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012
