If you use Self-Directed Supports, do you use IRIS or Family Care? Maybe you're in a county program (Legacy Waiver) and use SDS that way. If you don't use SDS at all (even though you receive…Continue

Thanks. Our website is www.balanceinc.org. It needs some updates but it gives you some idea of what the organization does. We are working on increasing our involvement with self-directed supports especially with our supported living services. We have been doing quite a bit of private fundraising in order to develop this for those who aren't supported in that manner through the care management organizations.
Robin Davis said… Hi Deb,
We have our first meeting on Nov 15th with Iris to come up with a plan so I need to do my research of what is out there outside of the home. Have you heard of Life Academy out in West Allis on 117th and Cleveland in some church? Its thru MCFI not sure what these services cost and how it will work with my son still in high school. We plan on our 24 yr old nephew work with him in the home but want him to get out in the community and learn more like independently living and what will help him prepare him to more independent so he is not so dependent on adults. He is use to mom and dad doing everything for him and making his decisions. I did get full guardianship of him as well.
