Kaylin Shampo said… ActionNet is a network that allows for people in Columbia, Dane, Dodge, and Green counties to stay connected and learn about local, state and federal issues that impact people with disabilities in their area. It is made up of county grassroots groups with different roles for members, and information is shared with members in a variety of ways. ActionNet is made up of every day citizens who want to take action to solve issues facing their community. This is important because often times, people with disabilities are excluded from the decisions affecting their lives, and grassroots involvement is a way for people to gain more control, and have influence in decisions. If you have more questions or would like to attend an ActionNet meeting please feel free!

Mary Sykes said… Hey Carrie, yes, I've reached out to Cindy Kernan to get added to that group, would love to be part of discussions, can certainly help initiate/organize things if needed, am looking forward to seeing who all is in that group and maybe see if we can grow that group!
Mary Sykes said… Carrie, thanks so much for your words of welcome! I am glad to finally be on the Network. I have more time now to devote to work with PATH so that is great! Thanks again.
Kelly Dittberner said… Hi Carrie - Thanks for the welcome. I am the primary caregiver for my previous 72 year old mother, with a atypical dementia diagnosis, for the last seven years. She resides in a Memory Care Assisted Living Facility utilizing Self directed supports. It is an abyss of turns, dead ends and stop signs. I am dedicated to do what I have to do, moment by moment. We cannot measure in hours or days. It is also hard to look for help in WHAT area(s) and to get helpful, insightful and cooperation with so many walls. Hope this helps. Looking forward to better hours ahead!

Thank you for watching This Is My Sister. E-mails keep coming in about the film.
Here is one. What a reminder of the impact we have as parents on our children and the generations to come. May we learn to love well and may the world be different because of it. Thanks :) Jesse Eells, Mishicot, WI.

My passion is transition as I also have a master's degree in that area. I am actively involved in our county transition action council (TAC) and I co-coordinate our county-wide Reality Fair. I use a lot of assistive technology in my classroom including SMARTBoard, iPads and applications, and Web 2.0 tools. Thanks for allowing me to join.

Hi there,
I am actually a critical care nurse, and also have a lot of respect for public health/community care nurses. I have four kids, all school aged, some with some special needs. I find this concept of self directed supports essential for people with disabilities. Thanks for allowing me to join.
